Obituary for Wendy Carter Jackson
Wendy Carter Jackson of Hartford, Conn., recently passed away at the age of 61-years-old. A mother, sister, aunt and daughter, Wendy was devoted to her family and helping those she loved.
Wendy was the second daughter of Ralph and Betty Jackson. She was born on April 9, 1958, in Beeville, Texas, following the birth of their first daughter Kimberly. In 1960, the family moved to San Diego, California where they welcomed the third daughter Tracy. The Jackson family then moved to Lancaster, Calif., in 1962 where Wendy and her sisters welcomed the fourth sister Kristen.
As children, the Jackson sisters were deeply connected – sharing bedrooms, bathrooms, secrets, competitive moments and adventures – all the while caring and protecting each other. Wendy’s warm heart and loving spirit made for a strong, connective tissue.
In 1980, Wendy graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo before pursuing her professional career in journalism and health care.
Since she was a child, Wendy dreamed of having her own family. In 1995 she gave birth to her pride and joy – her daughter Lauren Tracy Jackson. Wendy is survived by her daughter Lauren, sister Kimberly Wahlberg of West Hartford, Conn.; sister Tracy Campbell of El Dorado Hills, Calif., sister Kristen McGilvra of Spring Hill, Tenn.; and seven nieces and nephews. The Jackson sisters are profoundly appreciative for the care and support that Steven Wahlberg provided to Wendy over the last 18 years. Our family will be eternally grateful.
Wendy will be laid to rest in a private burial. We invite our friends to share in our Celebration Service on Friday, June 21 at the Asylum Hill Congregational Church, 814 Asylum Ave, Hartford, Conn at 12:00 p.m. A light luncheon will be served after service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Asylum Hill Congregational Church. Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, West Hartford is handling funeral arrangements.
